Steering: Right-hand drive is the standard (Botswana drives on the left). Left-hand drive vehicles are not banned: the Minister of Transport told Parliament (26 March 2019) that the Road Traffic Act is silent on steering and their import and registration are not restricted by law. Confirm with your clearing agent before ordering.
Ports: Landlocked: via Durban (South Africa), then by road to Gaborone or Francistown; Walvis Bay (Namibia) by container.

Clearance: Documentation submitted to BURS (Botswana Revenue Service), 14% VAT and customs duties.
Registration: Police clearance (Interpol) and registration at the Department of Transport.
