Customs & Costs

Clearance: We introduce you to Direct Express Inc. (+1 310-324-2100).
Brokerage: ~$350/BL. THC: $250-$375.
Fixed fees: Entry ($250), ISF+Bond ($175), EPA ($35), E&O ($15).
Taxes: Duty (2.5% for cars / 25% for trucks), MPF (0.35%), HMF (0.125%) based on car value.

Age & Import Restrictions (CRITICAL)

25-Year Rule (NHTSA): Any vehicle not originally manufactured for the US market (including all RHD JDM vehicles) MUST be strictly 25 years or older (calculated to the exact month and year of manufacture) to be legally imported and exempt from FMVSS.

21-Year Rule (EPA): Vehicles 21 years or older with their original engines are exempt from EPA emission standards.

Each vehicle ships with the original Japanese auction sheet, our own inspection report with photos, and the export certificate. Mileage and condition are stated as recorded at the Japanese auction.
