Shipping & Logistics

ETA: Ocean transit approx. 3-4 weeks. Add 1 week for MPI/clearance. Total ETA: ~4-5 weeks.

Customs & Costs

Duty: 0% for almost all Japanese passenger cars.
GST: 15% (Calculated on CIF value).
Brokerage & Handling: ~$300 - $450 NZD.
MPI Inspection: ~$100 NZD.
Compliance & On-Road: ~$500 - $800 NZD. (Note: Clean Car Standard CO2 fees may apply).

Age & Import Restrictions (CRITICAL)

Cars & Motorcycles: Newer cars face strict emissions and mandatory ESC laws. However, vehicles 20 years or older are completely exempt from emissions, frontal impact, and ESC standards!

Heavy Machinery: Must be thoroughly washed and 100% free of soil/seeds for MPI biosecurity.
