Shipping & Logistics

ETA: Ocean transit time by RORO is approx. 4 weeks. Add 1 week for clearance. Total ETA: ~5 weeks.
Ports: Vancouver, New Westminster, and Halifax (Note: Halifax bookings may take longer).

Customs & Costs

Duty: 0% - 2.5% on Japanese-made (up to 6.1% for non-Japanese / 3.3% for trucks).
GST: 5%
Brokerage & Port: Broker ~$250 (+GST), Port Unloading ~$170, Tow Fee ~$100.
Other: A/C Excise Tax ($100), CFIA Soil Exam ($43 + GST if flagged).

Age & Import Restrictions (CRITICAL)

Cars & Motorcycles: The vehicle MUST be strictly 15 years or older (calculated to the exact month/year) to be exempt from CMVSS. (Exception: Quebec prohibits RHD vehicles newer than 25 years).

Heavy Machinery: Strictly off-road machinery is generally exempt from the 15-year rule but must pass rigorous CFIA biosecurity inspections (must be 100% free of soil/seeds).
