South Korea Import Regulations

Shipping & Logistics

  • Steering: Left-hand drive only (LHD). RHD registration is prohibited.
  • Import: Extremely strict environmental standards (Euro-6 equivalent). Emission and Noise Clearance tests.

Customs & Costs

  • Clearance: Taxes include duty (8%) and domestic consumption taxes.
  • Registration: Processed at the Vehicle Registration Office. The car is checked by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS).

Age & Import Restrictions (CRITICAL)

Age Restrictions: There is no strict limit, but technical eco-tests practically prevent the import of old cars.
