Trinidad and Tobago Import Regulations

Shipping & Logistics

  • Steering: RHD ONLY. LHD vehicles are strictly prohibited.
  • Pre-Export: An Import Licence from the Ministry of Trade and Industry MUST be obtained prior to shipping. No JEVIC/EAA required.

Customs & Costs

  • Import Duty: 25% to 45% based on engine displacement.
  • VAT: 12.5%. Motor Vehicle Tax (MVT) applies based on cc.

Age & Import Restrictions (CRITICAL)

Age Limits: Passenger Vehicles maximum 4-8 years old (depending on policy). Light Commercial Vehicles maximum 10 years old.

Yes. Every order includes Japanese export de-registration, the English export certificate, marine insurance and shipping from Japan to Trinidad and Tobago by RORO or container. Our export team prepares the documents your customs broker needs.
Each vehicle ships with the original Japanese auction sheet, our own inspection report with photos, and the export certificate. Mileage and condition are stated as recorded at the Japanese auction.
