Shipping & Logistics

Steering: RHD is mandatory.
Ports: Landlocked: via Durban (South Africa), then by road through Beitbridge or Plumtree; also via Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) or Maputo (Mozambique).
Inspection: Every vehicle needs a CBCA Certificate of Conformity, issued after a pre-shipment inspection by a CBCA-appointed company (in Japan, for example, EAA).

Customs & Costs

Duty: 25%-40% Customs Duty + 15% VAT.
Surtax: Surtax for cars older than 5 years.

Age & Import Restrictions (CRITICAL)

Age Limit: Used vehicles aged 10 years and above from the date of manufacture may not be imported, and the car must still be under 10 when ZIMRA clearance is completed (SI 54 of 2024; SI 59 of 2026 extended the ban to more vehicle types, including buses and some double cabs). Cars imported in breach must be re-exported at the owner's expense. The years in our listings are first-registration years; the car may have been built a year earlier, so check its manufacture date before you buy.
